How To Immigrate To Canada And Become A Canadian Citizen

If you have ever thought about relocating to Canada either for school or work purpose this article is for you.

Canada is a wonderful country, a land where health care is free, the standard of living is high and you have access to career opportunities and good working condition.

But to actually become a citizen you need to live in Canada for at least 6 years, be of good behavior and know a thing or two about the country you want to call home.

If you really want to migrate Up north let's look at how to go about it.

There are several programs for relocating to Canada

(1.) Express entry program: This is a fast-track system for migrating to Canada. Skilled workers get jobs through this way. I recommend this if you are with the ages 18 - 35 years. All applicants into Express Entry are given a specific score based on their specific talents and job prospects and then ranked with other applicants. Those at the top of the rankings are invited to become permanent residents.

2.) Provincial Nominee Program: This is a program for people with skills needed in a particular province in Canada, who wants to live or work there and become permanent residents. Each province or territory has their own specific immigration program and requirements that targets certain group of people. For instance in a province requirements, they may want students, skilled workers, a particular profession etc. if you are above 35 yearsof age i recommend this method.

Both programs listed above depend heavily on your age, your ability to pass the IELTS exam and a high CRS point. However, there is another Canada immigration program (introduced last year) that allows you to become a permanent Canadian resident even if you do not have a degree.

With this new program, you can get a job anywhere in Canada and move with your entire family.

Many Nigerians are already using this channel to travel but unlike other immigration channel, it would soon become competitive.
